Grape: This wine is produced using 100% Malbec grapes. The Malbec grape, known as COT, is native to Cahors in the Quercy province in the southwestern part of France. Malbec has found a new home in the Mendoza province of Argentina. Malbec is the dark-skinned grape variety that put Argentinian wine on the map.

Aromas: Plum, blueberry, blackberry, oak, chocolate
Flavors: Pepper, leather, plum, blueberry, dark cherry, vanilla

Alcohol: 14.5%

Balance: Very nice Argentinian Malbec with a lot of black fruit balanced by medium acid and tannins
Serving Tips: 55 to 65° F, red wine glass, decant for 30 minutes
Food Pairings: Grilled steak, lamb, BBQ, savory pasta, game meats
Aging: can age up to 10 years
Winery Notes: The Achaval Ferrer vineyards are in the Mendoza Valley of west central Argentina along the Andes Mountains. The vineyards consist of centuries-old vines, historical monuments of viticulture, are ungrafted, extremely low-yielding, and located on slopes with excellent sun exposure along the banks of the Tunuyán and Mendoza rivers.
