Grape: This wine is produced using 100% Aglianico grapes. It’s a dark-skinned grape which grows mainly in Campania and Basilicata regions of southern Italy. However, it probably originated in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. It is highly likely that this is one of the wines drank during the Roman Empire Age in Italy.

Aromas: Ripe red fruit, jam, oak
Flavors: Dark berries such as blueberries, blackberries, leather, spice
Body: Full

Balance: Really nice full-bodied wine with medium tannins
Serving Tips: 61° to 65° F, red wine glass, decant for 3 hours

Winery Notes: The Cantina di Solopaca is one of the oldest farmer’s cooperatives with wineries all over the Campania region of southern Italy. The “Carrese” name is a tribute to all those artisans (the master wheelwrights) who, with their art, their passion and dedication to their native land, create true works of art for the local Grape Festival, an allegory of true art, that of making wine.
