Wine: Paolo Sordo Barolo 2017
Grape: The wine is produced using 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The Nebbiolo grape is a dark-skinned grape native the Piemonte wine region of Northwestern Italy. The grape is intensively cultivated in the southern central and northern areas within the Piemonte. It is the Piemonte’s most revered grape and a very old variety. It produces a wine that is age worthy.

Flavors: Plum, tobacco, smoke, cherry, blackberry, blueberry

Alcohol: 14.5%

Balance: This wine was a typical Barolo with high acid and accompanying high tannins. It was well balanced and drinkable now if decanted for at least an hour.
Serving Tips: 61° to 65° F, in a red wine glass, decant up to 2 hours
Aging: age 10 to 20 years
Food Pairings: roasted beef, game meats, steak, pizza, pasta with red sauce
Winery Notes: The Sordo Family estate is in the heart of one of the most successful winegrowing areas in Piedmont – the Langhe – in between the municipalities of Castiglione Falletto and Barolo. They have been producing wine since the beginning of the 19th century. They combine tradition and innovation to produce high quality wines.
