Wine: McNary Vineyard William Clark Syrah

Grape: This wine is produced using 100% Syrah grapes.  Syrah is a tough-skinned dark grape native to the northern Rhone wine region of France.

Color: Ruby red with purple hints

Aromas:    oak, vanilla, chocolate, earthy, tobacco, gamey

Flavors:  tart cherries, smoky, pomegranate, pepper, dark chocolate

Body: Medium ++

Alcohol:  13.7%

Acid: Medium +

Sweetness: Dry

Tannins: Medium +

Balance:  nicely balanced with acid and tannins that work well together

Serving Tips:  60º to 65º F, in a red wine glass, decant for 2 hours

Aging:  15 years

Food Pairings: game, roast meat, lamb, duck, and pasta with red sauce

Winery Notes:  The winery that produced these grapes is the Horse Heaven Hills AVA of the state of Washington. Horse Heaven Hills is a cool wine region overlooking the Columbia River.  Overlooking the Columbia from cliffs leads to tempered growing conditions and optimum airflow.
