Winery Notes: The winery that was used to produce this wine is from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine region of northeastern Italy. The region is situated between Venice and the Yugoslav border, and the Alps. The grapes are grown on the hills of Gramogliano which have been renowned, not just for their natural beauty, but also for the terrain, the position and the micro-climate that make up the cru hors classe of Friuli’s Colli Orientali. Giacomo Perusini was the original owner and with his early death during WWI his wife, Giuseppina Perusini Antonini took over the business. Today, the winery is managed by Giacomo’s granddaughter, Teresa. The family castle, Rocca Bernarda, has been passed to the Order of Malta.
