Grape: This wine is produced using 100% Sangiovese grapes.  Sangiovese is a thin-skinned dark grape native to southern Italy.  The grape migrated to its most famous location – Tuscany – from southern Italy.

Color: Ruby red

Aromas:    prunes, morello cherry, mineral scents, licorice and tobacco

Flavors:  vanilla, oak, pepper, cherries

Body: Medium +

Alcohol:  14%

Acid: Medium +

Sweetness: Dry

Tannins: Medium +

Balance:  elegantly balanced, acid and tannins work very well together, nice long finish

Serving Tips:  64º to 65º F, in a red wine glass, decant for 2 hours

Aging:  25+ years

Food Pairings: game, roast meat, lamb, and pasta with red sauce

Winery Notes:  The winery that produced these grapes is the Tuscany wine region of central Italy. It is near to the Tuscan village of Montalcino. Poggio Landi estate has 75 hectares of vineyards, which skirt some of the most prestigious areas of the denomination, from the historic Montalcino vineyards in the north to those rich in character in the south.
