Grape: This wine is produced using Negroamaro grapes.  Negroamaro is a thick-skinned dark grape.  Origins of the grape are debated with possibilities of Greece or Italy.  DNA profiling has shown no relationship to modern Greek varieties, so Italy is more likely.

Color: Deep garnet red

Aromas:   oak, cherries, smoky, cedar

Flavors:  blackberry, plum, vanilla, cedar, dark chocolate, cherries

Body: Full

Alcohol:  14%

Acid: Low

Sweetness: Dry

Tannins: Medium

Balance:  full-bodied, smooth with slight sweetness on the finish

Serving Tips:  60º to 68º F, in a red wine glass, decant for 30 minutes

Aging:  5 to 10 years

Food Pairings: game, roast meat, lamb, and pasta with red sauce

Winery Notes:  The winery that produced these grapes is in the Puglia wine region of southern Italy.  The winery is located in the Itria Valley and combines tradition, passion and technology to produce great Puglian wines.
